To celebrate
a successful
2007 and the
progress
being made
on the
Gautrain
construction,
DURA
Soletanche
Bachy
chose
specialist
events
company
Stephanie
Moss
Solutions to
stage a
party on
site at one
of the
Gautrain
building
sites in
Sandton. The
event, which
took place
at the end
of last
year,
entertained
guests from
the host
companies
DURA
Soletanche
Bachy and
Liviero as
well as from
the Bombela
Concession
Company.
Tasked with
transforming
a working
building
site into a
scintillating
party venue,
the intrepid
events team
did not
disappoint
guests, who
were tickled
pink to see
caterers and
other
suppliers
wearing hard
hats, site
boots and
reflective
vests.

Moss, MD of

expands:
“It goes
without
saying that
transforming
a working
building
site into a
stunning
party venue
was
something of
a challenge.
We had to
bring in
everything
needed to
create a
venue from
scratch –
tent,
flooring,
décor,
generators
(although
that’s no
longer so
unusual
thanks to
load
shedding!)
and more.
“The
thrilling
thing about
events of
this nature
though, is
the
indescribable
sense of
achievement
you
experience
when it’s
all done.
When you
look around
at the
venue, with
just minutes
to go till
guests’
arrival, and
are able,
for the
first time
to see the
final
picture
through the
eyes of your
guests, you
get an idea
of how Alice
must have
felt in
Wonderland!
“
The party
took its
theme from
the
celebrated
Beaujolais
Nouveau
tradition.
This began
as a local
event in the
bars
and cafes of
the
Beaujolais
and Lyons
districts in
1937 -
coincidentally
the same
year that
the company
BACHY was
founded in
France –
when
Beaujolais
would make a
wine,
fermented
for just a
few weeks,
to celebrate
the end of
the
harvest.
After the
war the
tradition
gained
popularity
and spread
around the
world, with
sales rising
to more than
65 million
bottles. In
2007, DURA
Soletanche
Bachy joined
in this
tradition;
hosting its
own
Beaujolais
Nouveau
party at the
Sandton
Station (Gautrain)
site. The
theme was a
great
success and
the
Beaujolais
Nouveau wine
was opened
and served
with some
fanfare to
the approval
of highly
appreciative
guests.
Naturally
the buffet
dinner
complemented
the
delightfully
light
Beaujolais
wine and
guests dined
on
traditional
French fare
including
pates,
crepes,
fromage and
fruit, while
being
entertained
by the
Moulin
Rouge-style
cancan
girls.
Moss says
she was very
pleased with
the final
result, but
more
importantly
so too was
her client.
