NOTE FROM STEPHANIE:
Hello once again to everyone around the world included in this newsletter.
Yet another fast month and a wintery month with the tourism and hospitality tenaciously and bravely doing whatever is required to boost business and occupancies. Cutting of rates, offering of value ads and a myriad of lateral thinking ideas and concepts are happening out there.
An interesting time and one that is certainly making companies assess and restructure in order to survive this period. Fortunately everything in life changes and so too will this economic climate.
Get in touch with the Solution Group team to be made aware of some of those fabulous winter packages on offer all over the country currently.

| ACSA INCREASES TARIFFS |
|
Airport tariffs are set to rise by 34,8%, effective from October 1, 2011. In a statement by ACSA it said that it recognises the increase will have an impact on customers, but reiterated that they were “unavoidable but necessary” for the industry. The passenger service charge (ex VAT) will be: Domestic R96,49, Regional R199,12 and International R262,28. Responding to the announcement of the increase, the Airline Association of Southern Africa (AASA) said while ACSA's announcement that the tariff increase effective from April 1, 2011 for the year ending March 31, 2012 is 34,8%, this does not reflect the full picture.
“Due to the late finalisation of the new ACSA tariffs and the fact that the effective date of the increase will be October 1, 2011, the Regulating Committeee has allowed ACSA to recover the additional revenue it would have recovered from April 1, 2011 to September 30, 2011 in the six months from October 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012. Hence the actual increase on the current levels of passenger service charges, landing and parking charges will increase by just under 70% effective from October 1, 2011,” said AASA

| MUNICH AIRPORT INTRODUCES INFOGATES |
|
The new InfoGates will assist passengers in requesting individual directions to get where they want to go at Munich Airport. The InfoGate allows the airport visitor to simply push a button to be immediately connected via video conference with an information service representative for a real-time dialog on life sized screens. At the new InfoCounters, passengers will now have access to reliable information in areas of the airport where there was previously no opportunity for face to face contact with information service representatives. The advantage of these devices is that passengers can request “custom made” directions to a desired gate that will take them past a certain shop or restaurant en route. The passenger then sees the quickest way to their chosen destination displayed on an animated map of the airport building.
